Other MHPD incidents
Petty theft

Someone saw two Hispanic men stealing lumber and pipes from a construction site near the 17600 block of Crest Avenue. The men were reportedly associated with a “primer-gray” pickup that was also near the site, according to police reports. The crime was reported 7:55 p.m. Dec. 29.

A heavy-set man in his 60s with gray hair stole a 30-pack of beer from the Safeway grocery store, 235 Tennant Station, according to police. The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark blue jeans when the crime happened about 9:10 p.m. Dec. 28. The witness who reported the incident told police the thief was going to a small homeless encampment set up behind Joann Fabrics, which is next door to the Safeway.
