Stolen vehicle

A white Ford F250 U-Haul truck, stolen out of North Carolina, was recovered at a location on Condit Road. The vehicle was reported to local police 6:18pm Jan. 8.

A white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup was stolen from a spot on Basil Avenue. The theft was reported 4:03am Jan. 10.

A gray 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, previously reported stolen out of San Jose, was recovered in a parking lot on Railroad Avenue in Morgan Hill. The vehicle was reportedly recovered 4:04pm Jan. 7, and had been stolen about a month earlier.

Burglary

A suspect or suspects broke into a locked patio area of the Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road, and destroyed televisions and other items. The crime was reported 8:05am Jan. 9.

A burglar or burglars broke into a garage on Myrtle Avenue and stole miscellaneous tools. The burglary was reported 7:06pm Jan. 10.

Someone broke into and ransacked a home on Bradford Way. The burglary was reported 8:07pm Jan. 12.

Embezzlement

An employee of Big 5 Sporting Goods, 150 Cochrane Plaza, was arrested on suspicion of making fraudulent returns worth about $2,100 to the store. The embezzlement was reported 2:19pm Jan. 9.

Auto burglary

A thief or thieves entered a white 2006 GMC truck parked on Blue Grass Court and tampered with the steering column and ignition. The suspect or suspects left behind a shaved key. The crime was reported 7:50am Jan. 10.

Someone broke into a white 1979 Chevrolet pickup parked on the 18900 block of Monterey Road. The crime was reported 1:11pm Jan. 10.

A burglar or burglars smashed the window of a white Toyota 4Runner parked at Denny’s, 875 Cochrane Road, and stole an orange backpack and a Michael Kors diaper bag. The crime was reported 10:46am Jan. 8.

Fraud

A suspect or suspects fraudulently cashed two checks from a Morgan Hill victim’s account, stealing more than $2,600. The crime was reported 12:44pm Jan. 10.

Petty theft

A male suspect walked out of Safeway, 235 Tennant Station, with a bag of groceries and did not pay for the items. The crime was reported 10:43pm Jan. 10.
