Police Blotter
May 23
Identity theft: A resident of Laurel Road reported someone registered a vehicle under their name, and they received a notice from a collection agency. The report was taken at 4:20pm.
Burglary: Cingular Wireless in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center reported someone grabbed a phone from the store and ran out without paying for it. The report was taken at 5:53pm.
Threats: A resident of the Morgan Hill Apartment Trailers reported his girlfriend is trying to run him down in a Dodge Intrepid. He told police she will not stop trying to kill him, is extremely uncooperative with police and will fight officers if they try to stop her. A second caller reported the woman is “crazy.” The report was taken at 8:01pm.
Stolen vehicle: A Morgan Hill resident reported a Suzuki motorcycle was stolen from in front of Mount Hope Cemetery on Spring Avenue. He told police his friend had the motorcycle at the time, and the bike broke down and he had to leave it on the street. The report was taken at 9:35pm.
May 24
Vandalism: A resident of Serene Drive reported a window of their vehicle was shattered overnight. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 8:27am.
Auto burglary: An employee of Century 21 on Sutter Boulevard reported her Ford Focus was broken into while parked at work. Jewelry and some books were stolen. The report was taken at 9:29am.
Stolen vehicle: A resident of San Pedro Avenue reported his daughter’s car was stolen by her ex-boyfriend, who is a meth user. He told police the ex-boyfriend broke into the house and stole the keys to the Ford Concord. The report was taken at 9:56am.
Vandalism: A resident of the Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes reported they returned home to find a broken window. The report was taken at 3:55pm.
Arrests:
A 35-year-old Morgan Hill man was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged domestic battery after an incident on May 17. The report was taken at 7:47pm.
Mario Jimenez, 40, was booked into county jail for alleged battery after an incident on May 18. The report was taken at 12:36am.
An 18-year-old Morgan Hill man was booked into county jail for alleged domestic battery. The report was taken on May 18 at 9pm.
Philip M. Terry, 19, was cited and released for driving on a suspended or revoked license. The report was taken on May 18 at 8:55am.
Juan Carlos Delarosa, 24, was cited and released on suspicion of being drunk in public. The report was taken on May 19 at 5:38pm.
Two 15-year-old males and one 14-year-old male were cited and released to their parents for allegedly stealing a vehicle. The report was taken on May 20 at 10:05pm
Sheriff’s arrests
False identification: Stacy Gene Hall, 40, of San Jose, at 12:26am, Monday, May 15, at Welburn Avenue and Westwood Drive, for driving without a valid license and giving false identification to a police officer.
Forgery: Robert Guillermo Martinez, 30, of San Jose, at 2:30pm, Tuesday, May 16, for possession of stolen property and forged bank checks.
Teneka Maria Becerra, 26, of Gilroy, at 2:30pm, Tuesday, May 16, for possession of stolen property and forged bank checks, violating parole and possession of a controled substance.
Ronnie Jeanne Hernandez, 23, of Morgan Hill, at 2:30pm, Tuesday, May 16, for forged bank checks and possession of stolen property.
Attempted vehicle theft: A thief broke into a 1992 Ford Aerostar van parked on Monterey Street and attempted to start the vehicle without a key, sometime between 10pm, Thursday, May 18 and 7:30am, Friday, May 19. Pry marks were discovered on the ignition and the driver’s side window was shattered.
Grand theft: Thieves stole an electrical panel and ladder, valued at $2,600, at Holiday Estates in Morgan Hill, sometime between 4:30pm, Friday, May 19 and 7:15am, Saturday, May 20.
Recovered property: A 1996 Acura Integra stolen out of San Jose was recovered at 8:15am, Sunday, May 21, at Bolsa and Bloomfield roads.
Stolen property: A check was stolen out of a mailbox at Oak Glen and Sycamore avenues, valued at $900, sometime between Aug. 11, 2005 and May 8, 2006.
Vandalism: Vandals smashed the windows of a 2006 Nissan Titan parked at Gavilan College, sometime between 3:45pm, and 4:50pm.
A 1998 Chevy Astro work van parked on Monterey Road was broken into and the lock mechanisms cut, causing an estimated $500 in damage, sometime between 3:30pm, Friday, May 12 and 6am, Monday, May 15.
