  • Auto burglary: A Ford Explorer parked in the 16000 block of Church Street was broken into during the afternoon. A rear window was shattered, and the stereo and a cell phone were stolen. The report was taken at 5:23pm.

  • Auto burglary: An employee of the Post Office reported their new locked Dodge Intrepid was broken into while parked in the employee lot behind the building. A door handle was broken off and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 5:44pm.

January 15

  • Auto burglary: A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the Nob Hill Foods in Vineyard Town Center. The report was taken at 9:26am.

  • Petty theft: Someone at the Nob Hill Foods in Vineyard Town Center reported that on Jan. 12, a suspect cut the lock from a bike and put it in the back of his car and left with it. The bike reportedly belongs to a teenager who leaves it locked at the store every day and catches a bus. A description of the suspect vehicle, including the license plate number, was given to police. The report was taken at 10:23am.

  • Auto burglary: A resident of the Jasmine Square Apartments reported their Nissan Sentra was broken into overnight while parked in the apartment parking lot. A back window was shattered, and the speakers and stereo were stolen. The report was taken at 2:56pm.

  • Auto burglary: A resident of the Jasmine Square Apartments reported their GMC Sonoma was broken into overnight while parked in the apartment parking lot. A rear window was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 4:35pm.

January 16

n Vandalism: A resident of the 16600 block of San Benito Drive reported her mailbox was hit by a vehicle. The report was taken at 12:15am.

  • Stolen vehicle: A Morgan Hill resident reported he left his vehicle at Beacon Automotive on Joleen Way on Jan. 14, and he noticed it was missing on the evening of Jan. 15. The report was taken at 11:50am.

  • Vandalism: A resident of the 15200 block of La Rocca Drive reported someone threw eggs and green paint at the residence from a passing vehicle. They were able to give police a description of the suspect vehicle and its license plate number. The report was taken at 4:24pm.

January 17

  • Burglary: Family Hair Care on Monterey Road was broken into overnight. Windows at the rear of the building were shattered, and cash was stolen from the business. The report was taken at 11:03am.

  • Vandalism: A resident of El Toro Avenue reported his back fence was damaged, possibly by a vehicle from a parking lot behind the residence. The report was taken at 3:16pm.

  • Burglary: The owner of the Feathered Nest on Monterey Road reported someone attempted to break into the business. A plant and pot were stolen from outside. Doors to other businesses in the complex were also tampered with. The report was taken at 8:08pm.

January 18

  • Vandalism: A resident of Diana Avenue reported someone poured sugar into the gas tank of his Nissan Frontier, destroying the engine, causing damage of $7,000-8,000. The incident occurred near the first of the year, and he and his son told police they have information about a possible suspect. The report was taken at 10:38am.

  • Fraud: A resident of Depot Street reported someone is using her ATM card on the Internet to purchase items from Radio Shack. The report was taken at 5:22pm.

  • Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported their work truck, a Ford F250, was broken into while parked behind the 24 Hour Fitness in Tennant Station shopping center. The windshield was shattered, and the stereo, a cell phone and other items were stolen. The report was taken at 7:15pm.
