  • Vandalism: El Capri Restaurant on Monterey Road reported a Jeep Cherokee drove by the restaurant, and suspects inside the Cherokee threw eggs at the restaurant. Police caught up with the vehicle and took four teenage males into custody, calling their parents to pick them up from the police station. The report was taken at 10:33pm.

January 3

  • Fraud: A resident of Brega Lane reported someone used his ATM number to charge $2,080. The report was taken at 1:14pm.

  • Threats: A Morgan Hill resident reported they have been receiving harassing phone calls since July. They kept a phone log of the calls from Sept. 19 to Dec. 26 and turned the log into police, along with the name, address and birth date of the suspect. The report was taken at 7:39pm.

January 4

  • Identity theft: A resident of Venetian Way reported someone is using her driver’s license number to write bad checks. She told police she was told by Albertson’s they could not take her check and found out she is “blocked” at Lowe’s also. The report was taken at 2:26pm.

  • Petty theft: An employee of Jo Ann Fabrics in Tennant Station reported the contents of her purse were stolen while her purse was in the break room of the store, an area which is accessible to customers. A wallet, checkbook and keys to her vehicle were stolen. The report was taken at 4:36pm.

January 5

  • Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported his cell phone was stolen from his work truck while it was parked at DeWitt Avenue and Spring Avenue. The report was taken at 11:14am.

  • Stolen vehicle: A Chevy Camero was stolen from a residence on San Ramon Drive. The report was taken at 11:28pm.

January 7

  • Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported she left her purse in the dressing room of the Goodwill store on Monterey Road, and it was stolen. The purse itself was returned, she told police, but her wallet containing $100, her ID and other items, was not found. The report was taken at 12:49pm.

  • Stolen vehicle: A Nissan Sentra was stolen from the parking lot of the Cinelux Theater in Tennant Station. The report was taken at 9:49pm.

January 9

  • Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported their check from Chicago Title for $811.01 was cashed by someone else in October at the South Valley National Bank in Tennant Station. The report was taken at 12:01pm.

  • Petty theft: A resident of La Escuela Court reported two statues were taken from his front yard within the last 10 days. The report was taken at 12:16pm.

-Auto burglary: A locked GMC Jimmy was broken into while parked in the back parking lot of the Residence Inn on Madrone Parkway. A package and keys were stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 12:51pm.

  • Stolen vehicle: The US Bank in the Safeway grocery store in Tennant Station reported two females and a male were attempting to use a stolen credit card with a false name. The vehicle they arrived in, a Dodge Stratus, is a stolen vehicle. The report was taken at 12:57pm.

  • Threats: A resident of the Village Avante Apartments reported they have been receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown male and female. The report was taken at 10:05pm.

January 10

  • Stolen vehicle: A Honda Civic was stolen from a residence on Serene Drive. The report was taken at 1:40am.

  • Stolen vehicle: A Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from a residence on Main Avenue overnight. The report was taken at 6:06am.

  • Stolen vehicle: A resident of Claremont Drive reported their Toyota pickup was stolen from the residence overnight. The report was taken at 7:42am.

  • Identity theft: A resident of Thyme Avenue reported her identification was used to open several credit card accounts. The report was taken at 2:53pm.

Arrests:

  • Mary Jane Profeta, 38, was cited and released on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The report was taken on Dec. 21 at 6:47pm.

  • Gustavo Covarrubias, 20, was cited and released on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The report was taken on Dec. 24 at 12:53am.
