January 21

• Auto burglary: A guest at the Inn at Morgan Hill reported their Toyota Highlander was broken into overnight. A window was shattered, and the DVD player was stolen. The report was taken at 9:14am.

• Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her Hyundai Santa Fe was broken into while parked at the Park-n-Ride. A window was shattered, and her purse was stolen. The report was taken at 10:18am.

• Auto burglary: Two other vehicles at the Inn at Morgan Hill were broken into overnight. The report was taken at 10:36am.

January 22

• Burglary: Donuts N Things reported someone broke into the business through the back door. The report was taken at 1:32am.

• Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported their Mitsubishi was stolen from the complex parking lot. The report was taken at 9:37pm.

January 23

• Stolen vehicle: A resident of Calle Cerro reported their Mazda pickup was stolen from the residence. The report was taken at 8:14am.

• Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen while she was at St. Catherine School. She later recovered the purse from a recycling bin, but her driver’s license, credit cards and approximately $100 in cash were gone. She later learned a credit card had been charged $900 at South Valley bike. The report was taken at 4:10pm.

• Burglary: A resident of La Casitas Apartments reported someone broke into their apartment through the rear sliding glass door and stole $135. The report was taken at 4:19pm.

• Petty theft: An unlocked BMX bicycle was stolen from the Acacia Mobile Home Park. The report was taken at 6:07pm.

January 25

• Auto burglary: A resident of the Monte Vista Apartments on Del Monte Avenue reported their Honda Civic was broken into overnight. A window was shattered, and the stereo system and speakers were stolen. The report was taken at 9:02am.

• Auto burglary: A resident of Barnell Avenue reported their Dodge Dakota was broken into overnight. The passenger door lock was broken, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 9:10am.

• Auto burglary: Another resident of the Monte Vista Apartments reported their Saturn Ion was broken into overnight. A window was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 10:35am.

• Auto burglary: Another resident of the Monte Vista Apartments reported their vehicle was broken into. A window of the Honda Civic was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 10:54am.

January 26

• Vandalism: A resident of Manor Court reported six of her tires were slashed overnight as a result of an argument the day before. The report was taken at 7:25am.

• Petty theft: A resident of Excaliber Drive reported their mailbox was broken into, and mail was stolen. The report was taken at 10:27am.

• Fraud: A resident of Corte Cabas reported someone is using her credit card to make phone payments. The report was taken at 12:07pm.

• Petty theft: Another resident of Excaliber Drive reported their mailbox was broken into. The report was taken at 3:07pm.

• Attempted kidnapping: A Morgan Hill resident reported two male suspects tried to get her to go away with them. She told police she was approached by one of the males in the parking lot of the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. He allegedly asked for her help with a phone, and the other male was waiting for them there. They tried to get her into their black Honda. The report was taken at 3:21pm.

• Identity theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported someone opened a Sprint account using their name. The account has charges totaling more than $2,000. The report was taken at 5:17pm.
