n Embezzlement: The McDonald’s restaurant on Condit Road reported an employee, who has now been suspended, has embezzled $4,000 over the past month. The report was taken at 9:23am.
n Fraud: Animal Damage Management on East Dunne Avenue reported a former employee, who only worked a week for the company, wrote herself a check for $400 on a check number that was already issued. The report was taken at 10am.
n Grand theft: Nicer Hobbies and Gifts on Vineyard Boulevard reported someone stole a cash register from the store. The report was taken at 5:30pm.
n Burglary: A resident of the 16900 block of Sorrel Way reported her home was broken into, forced entry through her front door, between Aug. 16 and 6pm Aug. 18. A checkbook and financial papers were stolen. The report was taken at 6:12pm.
n Stolen vehicle: A Morgan Hill resident reported her Suburban was stolen on Aug. 16 from the 600 block of Spring Hill Drive, and now the vehicle is parked at the corner of Spring Avenue and Spring Hill Drive. The report was taken at 10:20pm.
August 19
n Auto burglary: A resident of the Hacienda Mobile Home Estates reported tools were stolen from a cargo trailer in the RV parking area of the park. The tools were valued at $1,200. The padlock of the cargo trailer was either sawed off or broken off. The report was taken at 4:38pm.
August 20
n Petty theft: A resident of the 15200 block of Via Corfinio reported a park bench was taken from their front yard. The bench was valued at $110. The report was taken at 7:38am.
n Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her Honda Accord was broken into while parked at Hill Road/San Pedro Avenue. Her purse was stolen from the front seat of the Honda. The report was taken at 8:15am.
n Petty theft: Nob Hill Foods in Vineyard Town Center reported a male walked out of the store with approximately 10-12 cases of beer. The report was taken at 8:11pm.
August 21
n Vandalism: A resident of the 1900 block of Pear Drive reported two windows of their Chevy Silverado were shattered. The report was taken at 12:59am.
n Vandalism: A Fountain Oaks resident reported as she was driving to her home she noticed several vehicles parked on Fountain Oaks near Hill Road that had shattered windows. Five vehicles were damaged. The report was taken at 1:08am. A second call came from another resident, who said when he turned onto Fountain Oaks Drive, he saw three to five male juveniles run in different directions.
n Stolen vehicle: A Jetta was stolen while parked at Calderon New and Used Tires on Monterey Road. The report was taken at 3:28am.
n Vandalism: A resident of 15400 block of Calle Enrique reported three of his vehicles, a Mercedes, a Toyota pickup and a Ford pickup, were vandalized overnight. Windows were shattered, and there were scratches on the Mercedes. The report was taken at 7:18am.
n Petty theft: A resident of Diana Avenue reported his mail was stolen overnight. The report was taken at 8:20am.
n Auto burglary: A guest of Extended Stay America on Jarvis Drive reported his Jeep Grand Cherokee was broken into overnight. The report was taken at 8:35am.
n Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported some of their checks were stolen and credit cards were used. The resident gave police the name of a possible suspect. The report was taken at 12:42pm.
n Auto burglary: A San Jose resident reported her Ford pickup was broken into while parked at Ernie’s Bar and Grill on Monterey Road. She told police the front window was shattered, and a small bag with her wedding rings was stolen. The report was taken at 5:27pm.
