Sept. 7

Burglary

• Thomas Grade, 12:03pm. A resident reported someone broke in while they were gone for a few hours in the morning.

Petty theft

• Morgan Hill Unified School District, Concord Circle, 1pm. Someone stole sprinkler heads from the property.

Vandalism

• Wright Avenue, 5:19pm. Someone threw a rock at a Volkswagen bug, damaging the door and shattering a window.

Battery

• Britton Middle School, West Central Avenue, 10:41pm. A Morgan Hill resident reported a female from Hollister confronted her and punched her in the face three times. She told police the female was drunk and driving around with several other girls.

Sept. 8

Embezzlement

• Target store, Cochrane Road, 7:28am. The manager reported there is video evidence of a night vendor stealing items from the store.

Sept. 9

Stolen vehicle

• Ramada Inn, Condit Road, 10:38pm. A guest reported a GMC Jimmy was stolen from the parking lot.

Sept. 10

Burglary

• Community Chiropractic, Monterey Road, 7:02am. Someone broke into the business overnight and stole video monitors.

Animal control

• Cochrane Road, 12:45pm. A resident was cited for possession of roosters for fighting purposes.

Vandalism

• Cochrane Road, 3:27pm.

A construction site was vandalized. A rock was thrown through a window of construction equipment, and someone “tagged” the water tower.

Threats

• Morgan Hill Apartments, Monterey Road, 4:12pm.

A resident reported she has been receiving harassing text messages from someone she knows. She told police she also received a voicemail that “talks about disposing of body parts.”

Fraud

• Check and Cash, Monterey Road, 5:21pm. An employee reported a suspect in the business was attempting to cash a counterfeit check.

• Joaquin S. Solorzano, 32, Aug. 31, 1:16am on East Dunne Avenue, for alleged possession of marijuana.

• Alejandro P. Solis, 26, Aug. 31, 11:33pm on Mathilda Court, on suspicion of being drunk in public.

• Nicholas A. Fries, 21, Sept. 2, 10:33pm on Burnett Avenue, for allegedly selling marijuana to minors.

Stolen vehicle recovered

• A Chevrolet Venture van stolen from Morgan Hill was found at 9am, August 11 on Baumann Court in Morgan Hill.

Burglary

• A home near the intersection of Holiday and Butterfly drives in Morgan Hill was burgled between 4 and 7:51pm, August 10. Nothing was taken.

• Jewelry worth $1,000 was stolen between 1:30pm, August 8 and 6:12pm, August 12 from Esther Lake Drive in Morgan Hill.

Mail theft

• Mail was stolen between 4pm Wednesday, August 1 and 8pm, August 8 from the intersection of Turlock and Fitzgerald avenues in San Martin.

Identity theft

• An unknown suspect forged a Morgan Hill resident’s signature on a business account and stole $389 between 8am, June 28 and 12pm, June 29. The theft was reported August 9.

Vehicle theft

• A gray 1988 Nissan pickup truck was stolen between 12am and 10am, August 1 from Columbet Avenue in San Martin.

• Jose Ortega Lua, 53, a transient, 7:20pm, Sept. 9 at the intersection of Monterey Road and Canterbury Place, for public intoxication.

Controlled substances

• Luis Carlos Silva, 34, of Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy, 10:45pm, Sept. 5 at the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and De Bruin Court, for being under the influence of a controlled substance and delaying an officer.

• Martin Montenegro Nevarez, 71, a transient, 4:20pm, Sept. 4 at the intersection of Monterey Road and San Martin Avenue, for public intoxication.

• Gloria Marie Velador, 48, of Morgan Hill, 1pm, August 30 at the intersection of Tilton and Hale avenues in Morgan Hill, on warrants for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
