- Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported she left her credit card in the Radio Shack in Tennant Station shopping center, and when she returned it was gone. The card was later used at the Chevron gas station and the Jack in the Box restaurant. The report was taken at 2:24pm.

Grand theft: A Hazelton Court resident reported someone broke into his backyard through the fence and stole some car parts. He told police that the suspect(s) also tried to break into the home but were not successful. The report was taken at 3:35pm.
Jan. 6
- Petty theft: A Fountain Avenue resident reported a check was stolen from the mailbox, then altered and cashed at a bank in San Jose. The report was taken at 10:47am.

Petty theft: A Jenece Court resident reported he hired someone to install tile in his house, and the suspect stole approximately $200 in supplies and never returned. When he contacted the suspect by phone, the suspect said he was never going to come back, and he was not going to return the items. The report was taken at 2:12pm.

- Stolen vehicle: A San Juan Drive resident reported someone took his Nissan truck on Jan. 4. The report was taken at 10:13am.

Grand theft: A Keith Way resident reported two suspects came to her residence to sign a paycheck and then stole her laptop and $50. The report was taken at 11:39am.
Jan. 8
- Petty theft: A La Prenda Court resident reported her credit card missing around Jan. 2 and now is being used in Gilroy. She told police she thinks someone from her cleaning service took the card. The report was taken at 11:10am.

Petty theft: A guest of the Extended Stay America on Jarvis Drive reported her jewelry was missing sometime on the morning of Jan. 6 while staying at the hotel. The report was taken at 12:28pm.
Jan. 9
- Petty theft: A Samsung MP3 video player valued at $200 was stolen from an unlocked locker at Britton Middle School. The report was taken at 3:15pm.

Stolen vehicle: A Terracina Apartments resident reported their Honda Civic was stolen overnight. The report was taken at 3:35pm.

Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her Acura was broken into while parked at the Centennial Recreation Center. Her purse was stolen from the vehicle, and her credit card was used at the EB Games store to purchase a PS3 game system. The report was taken at 8:38pm.

- Edward J. Ulrick, 54, was cited and released on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report was taken on Jan. 4 at 3:10pm.

Brian T. Doyle, 46, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for allegedly obstructing an officer. The report was taken at 4:47pm on Jan. 4.

Sheriff’s Blotter:
- Identity Theft: Deputies were dispatched to an identity theft call on Highland Avenue in San Martin. The victim went to a credit union and was notified by the credit union that someone had been fraudulently using his name and social security number. The credit union told the victim that he had eight evictions on his credit report. The victim told deputies he has never been evicted. The report was taken on Jan. 9.

- A 29-year-old male was taken to Santa Clara County Jail for alleged domestic battery. The report was taken on Jan. 12.

Michael Hernandez, 26, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on two outstanding warrants. The report was taken on Jan. 13.

Ryan Bell, 37, was cited and released on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report was taken on Jan. 13.

Nicole Clansey, 19, was cited and released on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, and Amanda Turner, 19, was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .01 or greater. The report was taken on Jan. 14.

Sheriff Incidents:
- An unknown suspect stole information from a resident of Meritage Court in Gilroy, between Feb. 29, 2004 and Dec. 21, 2006. The theft was reported Dec. 27.
Attempted burglary
- A lock latch to an exterior fence was cut at Coyote Bait and Tackle on Monterey Road between 6pm, Dec. 30 and 6am, Dec. 31. Nothing was taken.
