MORGAN HILL POLICE
Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes reported he left his pickup parked on the street in front of the apartment complex overnight, and when he went outside this morning, the truck was gone. The report was taken on June 29 at 1:26 p.m.
• A resident of the 16600 block of San Ramon Drive reported a Ford Taurus parked in front of the residence was stolen overnight. The report was taken at 8:49 a.m. on July 1.
• A resident of the 600 block of Claremont Drive reported her Ford truck was parked in front of her house overnight and was gone in the morning. The report was taken on July 2 at 6:34 a.m.
• A resident of the 16700 block of Barnell Avenue reported someone broke into the garage and stole a vehicle. The suspect(s) also broke the back and side windows of another vehicle with a baseball bat. The report was taken at 1:37 p.m. on July 5.
Child abuse: A therapist told police a young child who comes to him for therapy told him he has been sexually abused by a known suspect. The therapist said Child Protective Services has been contacted. The report was taken on July 8 at 7:55 p.m.
Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the Monte Vista Apartments reported someone stole the rear license plate from the back of the resident’s truck. The report was taken on June 26 at 2:21 p.m.
• A resident of the 100 block of Sage Avenue reported both license plates were stolen from the resident’s vehicle. The report was taken at 11:44 a.m. on June 29.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported the rear license plate was stolen from the resident’s Ford Mustang while it was parked at Second Street and Monterey Road overnight. The report was taken on July 8 at 10:15 a.m.
Petty theft: Ross Dress for Less in Cochrane Plaza reported two male suspects with baby strollers wandering in the store putting merchandise in the strollers and walking out with it. There were no babies in the strollers. The report was taken on June 15 at 1:54 p.m.
• Hospira on Jarvis Drive reported several pallets stolen from outside the building. The security cameras apparently show someone in a white pickup stealing the pallets and the license number of the pickup. The report was taken on June 23 at 9:07 a.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident told police his 11-year-old daughter’s purse was stolen while she was at Taco Bell. A cell phone and $20 were in the purse. The report was taken on June 27 at 9:38 p.m.
• A resident of Huston Court reported one-half a box of checks were stolen from his mailbox. A neighbor found the other half of the checks in the street and returned them to the resident. The report was taken at 8:19 p.m. on June 29.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported she left her purse in a shopping cart at Albertson’s and when she turned back to the cart, the purse was gone. The report was taken on June 30 at 8:10 a.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s cell phone was stolen while the resident was at the Farmer’s Market. The report was taken at 2:28 p.m. on June 30.
• Safeway reported a male suspect took a “cart-full” of beer and left without paying. He left behind his cell phone. The report was taken on July 1 at 2:21 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone stole $70 from her purse while she was in the Booksmart. She told police a male suspect had followed her around in the store, acting strangely, and though she did not see him steal the cash she thought he may have done it. The report was taken at 12:33 p.m. on July 2.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported the theft of a purse at Community Park. The report was taken on July 4 at 9:27 p.m.
• A resident of the Villa Ciolino Apartments reported the resident’s wallet was stolen the day before when several people were at the apartment. The report was taken at 10:49 a.m. on July 6.
• A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported a book of checks was stolen from her purse. The report was taken on July 6 at 3:55 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported a cell phone, keys (car and house), credit cards, Social Security card and $50 in cash stolen while the resident was at the Aquatics Center. The report was taken at 4:17 p.m. on July 8.
Fraud: South Valley Planners reported checks were stolen from the business and forged and cashed, for amounts totaling $3,000. An employee is suspected. The report was taken on June 29 at 1:33 p.m.
• A resident of the 17400 block of Calle Mazatan reported someone has been taking money out of his bank account to pay for auction items. The report was taken at 6:26 p.m. on June 30.
• A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals reported someone is using another person’s account to rent generators and then steal them. Nine generators were taken so far. The report was taken on July 7 at 11:24 a.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen in Morgan Hill approximately six months ago, and now someone is using her driver’s license number. The report was taken at 2:12 p.m. on July 8.
Battery: A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported his girlfriend was hitting him. The report was taken on June 25 at 8:52 p.m.
• A resident of Citation Court reported his roommate was out of control, trying to attack the resident and the roommate’s girlfriend. The roommate had three “throwing knives,” and the resident was afraid he would use them. The report was taken at 11:01 p.m. on June 26.
• A Redding resident called police to report her daughter in Morgan Hill, who is pregnant, called her and told her her boyfriend is pushing her and calling her names. The report was taken on July 1 at 8:36 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported she was assaulted by a known suspect while they were at the Sinaloa Cafe. The report was taken at 1 p.m. on July 5.
Vandalism: A resident of Montoya Circle reported he came home to find the back window of his Volvo shattered. The report was taken on June 25 at 4:22 p.m.
• A resident of the 1500 block of Seville Drive reported the rear window of the resident’s Ford Focus was shattered by a rock overnight. The report was taken at 4:26 p.m.
• A resident of the 1500 block of Avenida De Los Padres reported her home was egged and toilet-papered overnight after she called the police department to report yet another drag race during the night. The suspects knew she was calling, she said, and told her they were going to vandalize the residence. The report was taken at 7:34 a.m. on June 27.
• A resident of Dale Hollow Court reported the resident’s home was egged overnight. The report was taken on June 30 at 12:42 p.m.
