The city had hired a new community development director to replace David Bischoff who retired in April.
Kathleen Molloy Previsich, who served in the same capacity for the City of Capitola, started her new job on Monday, Feb. 7.
Previsich said she was pleased with her new job and equally pleased with the town.
“I was very impressed with my interactions with the staff and with Morgan Hill,” Previsich said before she came on board. “I kept gaining enthusiasm when I toured the city.”
Previsich said it was obvious to her that city planning had left it well-balanced, with attention to quality and managed growth and development to protect the natural environment, all matching her own philosophy.
“I am looking forward to working with the Morgan Hill team in protecting its unique natural environment and ensuring quality in the built environment. Based on my experience, I am confident that both can be achieved while pursuing the city’s economic development and housing goals as well.”
The new director has more than 20 years experience in planning and development, having worked in the cities of Sacramento and Santa Cruz and for Santa Cruz County.
