The Paradise Valley Home and School Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, purchased and sold 1,780 poinsettia plants from La Esquina at 152 in Watsonville, raising $9,500 to help fund the Mission Springs Science Camp adventure.
The school’s fifth and sixth grade students will attend the camp in the spring of 2016. Parent Sue Stapleton was the poinsettia coordinator and part of a team of volunteers that included Marie Lobel, Niki Taylor, Angelica Dannenberg, Katie Roberts, Piper Dietz, Melissa Ahumada, Jeff Stapleton, Kevin Giordanengo, Jaime Giordanengo, Cristy Gieg, Kelley Chimienti and Nancy Love.
The volunteers distributed the poinsettia plants to community members Dec. 2.
