Santa Clara county resident, Emily Bettencourt passed away on September 18, 2010 from a brief battle with leukemia surrounded by her family and friend. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Gilroy and I.F.D.E.S. Hall of Gilroy. She loved playing games with her grandchildren and was loved by all. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph Bettencourt, her parents Antonio and Frances Amaro, her brothers and sister Tony Amaro, John Amaro, Frank Amaro, Jose Amaro and Mary Cisneros. Mother of Larry Bettencourt and his wife, Bonnie of Hanford, CA and John Bettencourt and his wife, Salderrrena of Chowchilla, CA. Grandmother of Christina Kaupp and her husband, Garlin of Soledad, CA, Scott Bettencourt and his wife, Brandy of Omaha, NE, Bryon Bettencourt and his wife, Tracy of San Bernardino, CA, John Bettencourt II and his wife, Jennifer of Chowchilla, Larry Bettencourt Jr. and his wife, Bacilia of Gonzales, CA, Erik Bettencourt of Gilroy, Chalena Bettencourt of Lathrop, CA and Rebecca Rose Bettencourt of Soledad. Great-grandmother of 13. The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Mrs. Adelfa Hunley and Dr. Leung and staff.

Don died of natural causes at Baywood Court in Castro Valley where he had lived for the past 3 years. He is survived by his son Don A. Drake (Gail) of Castro Valley, step-daughters Kelly Garcia (Ted) of San Martin, Pamelah Stephens of San Jose, Christine Caspillo, sister Bobby Bennett (Jim) of Yulee FL, grandchildren Monica Johnson, Sean Drake, Amanda Peacock, Tosanna Alayaay, Shanna Garcia, Travis Garcia, Justin Stephens, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 7:30 P.M., at the Mission Church, Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara 95053 with burial at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara 95050. Donations in memory of Father Filice may be made to the California Province of the Society of Jesus, P.O. Box 68, Los Gatos, CA 95031 or to a charity of your choice.

Margaret L. Hernandez, passed away in Salinas. She was the wife of the late Rico Hernandez.

John J. Andrade, age 80, passed away on April 9, 2009 in Paradise, CA.

Romie A. Cortez passed away October 9, 2006 in San Jose, CA after a short illness. He was 74 years old.

Passed away at St. Louise Hospital on Thursday, June 18, 2009 due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Daughter of the late Leopoldo and Consuelo Baltazar. Mother of Joseph Baltazar, and Danelle Baltazar of Gilroy. Sister of Polly Mercado, Peter Baltazar, Joe Baltazar, Manuel Baltazar, Paul Baltazar, Yolanda De La Cruz, Esther Rivera, Rosemary Baltazar and the late Roy Baltazar.

Marlene Aza-Bowe ended her long battle with cancer on Friday, October 23, 2009. She inspired many as she defied survival expectations and with poise and determination continued to live and love and bring joy to those around her until the very end. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend.
