Annie Paura
Life long Hollister resident Annie Paura passed away at her residence Thursday morning Feb. 25th at the age of 83 years. She was a graduate of Hollister Schools. Annie's working career spanned 37 years in the canning industry, first working for Fairview Packing Company and retiring as a Supervisor for Tri-Valley Growers. Her memberships included Sacred Heart Church, the Spanish Lodge (Sociedad Espanola De San Benito); the Y.L.I, I.C.F. SIRS, and the Golden Years Travel Club of which she was a founding member and continued to belong to until her health did not permit her to do so. Annie enjoyed traveling, her trips to Reno and the casinos, her trips abroad, as well as taking her "girl friends" to her home in Twain Harte and to the Black Oak Casino. She could be found with her friends as an avid supporter of Sacred Heart Parish Bingo. Annie was one of the principle partners of Betabel R.V. Park in San Juan Bautista. She was the spouse of the late Peter Paura who passed away January 23, 1993.
Dominic J. Lomanto, Sr.
Dominic J. Lomanto, Sr. passed away in Hollister at the age of 87. He was born in San Jose and lived all of his life in Hollister. He married his wife, Betty, in Minden, NV in 1948, served his country honorably during WWII in the US Army and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He worked as a self employed farmer and as a buyer for San Benito Foods. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Hollister Elks Lodge, The Gourmet Club and liked golf, Pedro and hunting.
Howard Kenneth Schipper September 15, 1921 – December 31, 2016
Howard Kenneth Schipper, 95, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at home surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nora Schipper, and by brothers, Henry, George, Warren, Ted and Lester Schipper and sisters Geraldine Pollock and Lois Leibrandt.
Melissa Marie Casillas
Melissa passed away suddenly of natural causes Thursday, June 14, 2007 at UC Davis Medical Center. She was the daughter of Angelique R. Arevalo of Gilroy and Christopher Casillas Sr. of Gilroy, granddaughter of Dolores & Teodor Arevalo of San Jose, & Linda Casillas of Gilroy, sister of Christopher, Danny, Gabriela, Jasmine, Edward and Edward Jr. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A native of Gilroy.

Mary Louise Gonzales, born Oct. 27, 1919 in Hayden, AZ, passed away Feb. 7, 2007 in Gilroy.
Harold (Wayne) Good
A long time resident of Morgan Hill, CA, Wayne was born in Konawa, OK and moved with his family to Richmond, CA during World War II. While his parents worked in the shipyards, Wayne finished high school in Richmond, and joined the Army Air Corps, serving in the army of occupation in Japan. After serving his country, he settled in Morgan Hill with his family, operating a chicken ranch on Watsonville Road with his father for several years. He met Barbara, his wife of more than fifty years, on a blind date and retired as an aircraft mechanic for Pan American Airways in 1986.
Erling Knute Carlson
Loving father and grandfather, Erling Knute Carlson passed away suddenly but peacefully on his 90th birthday in Modesto. Born to Norwegians Helge and Petra Carlson of Black Duck Minnesota July 2nd 1919, Erling joined the Navy in 1939. Serving as Gunners Mate, he sailed into Pearl Harbor the morning of December 8th, 1941, on the USS Chester. After his Honorable Discharge, he worked until retirement as a machinist for San Francisco Naval Shipyard. He then gained a second retirement as an engineer from Varian in Palo Alto. A lifelong Giants fan, avid traveler, animal lover and member of the Elks, he loved meeting and helping people. He is survived by daughters Diane Sullivan of Bakersfield, Nancy Cornett (Paul) of Florence, OR and Penny White (Wendell) of Modesto; grandchildren Christine Renninger of San Jose and Catherine Renninger of Mountain View. He is also survived by Mambi his beloved Scotty. He is preceded in death by Carmen his wife of 61 years. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 8th, 2009, at Spangler Mortuary 799 Castro St. Mountain View 650-967-5546. Rosary will be at 10:30 A.M., interment directly following at Alta Mesa Cemetery Palo Alto. His friends at the Morgan Hill Senior Center and his family will especially miss his sense of humor and love of music and life.
Stephen Bruce Connell
Steve Connell was born March 31, 1957 in Pensacola, FL and passed away in Eureka, CA after a short illness. He is suvived by his wife Gwynn, son Tucker, and step-daughters Brittny and Taylor Beshore. He is also survived by his parents Larry and Sally Connell, grandparents Dale and Ruth Connell, brother Kevin, sisters Darcey (Bob) Keeler and Susie (Dirk) Connell all of Gilroy. Nephews Charlie Minyard, Dale Keeler, Colton Minyard, Collin Minyard and nieces Jessica Eddings, Tiffany Connell, Sarah Connell and Brenna Keeler.
