Teachers treat the community
Local teachers provided a fun-filled, afternoon event for Morgan Hill community members April 21 as they hosted the Third Annual Friends & Family Festival under clear skies and warm temperatures at Nordstrom Elementary School. The free festival included activity booths, entertainment, community information booths and raffle prizes. Student actors from the Live Oak High School Drama Department’s production of “Spamalot” were part of the entertainment. Meanwhile, 10-year-olds (from left) Elizabeth Duong and Alondra Domingue enjoyed the crafts booth.
Cash for College Workshops
South County Cal-SOAP (Student Opportunity and Access Program) and GAVILAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE are inviting seniors and their parents to attend "Cash for College" workshops at 6pm tonight at Sobrato High School and at 6pm, Feb. 27 at Anzar High School, 2000 San Juan Highway, in San Juan Bautista; and at 6pm Feb. 28 at Gilroy High School, 750 West 10th St.

Interim Superintendent Steve Betando’s recommendation to the Morgan Hill Unified School District’s Board of Education is to deny Navigator Schools’ charter petition to open an elementary school within district boundaries for the fall of 2014, according to the Board’s meeting agenda for next week. The agenda was posted online Friday afternoon.

Dozens of original works created by elementary school students in Santa Clara County are on display for public viewing at the Morgan Hill Courthouse.
