Teachers Aid Coalition Harvest Wine Tasting

Morgan Hill's Teachers Aid Coalition, a nonprofit organization which helps local teachers receive much-needed school supplies, is having its annual "Harvest Wine Tasting" event at Clos LaChance Winery located at One Hummingbird Lane off Watsonville Road in San Martin at 5:30pm, Oct. 19.

Child Safety Fair

Home Depot held its annual safety fair for children Saturday, Oct. 7, with the help of the Morgan Hill Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Santa Clara County Fire Department. Parents and their children learned about safety in the home, child safety identification kits and other topics while having fun with police officers and firefighters. Home Depot also supplied crafts for kids to make and pumpkins for them to take home.

Morgan Hill Unified School Board Hearing

The Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Education is inviting parents, teachers, classified employees, bargaining unit leaders and members of the community to a public hearing at 6pm, Oct. 24, at district headquarters, 15600 Concord Circle.

Registration Deadline is Nov. 3 for ACT Test

College-bound high school students can take the ACT college admission exam on Dec. 9, 2006, the next national test date. The deadline for postmark or online registration is Nov. 3. The late registration deadline is Nov. 16 (an additional $19 fee is required for late registration). Students can get registration materials from their high school counselor or they can register online on ACT's student Web site www.actstudent.org.

Applications Accepted for 2007 BRICK Awards

Online submissions are now being accepted for the 2007 BRICK Awards, an award/scholarship program that recognizes social change-makers, age 25 and under, from the United States and Canada.
