More Conversations Planned

Morgan Hill has added more Community Conversation information on its Web site, www.morgan-hill.ca.gov/. In response to questions about crime and the fiscal impacts of the city’s redevelopment agency, the site now includes information about police staffing levels, crime statistics and the RDA.

There’s also information about the Community Conversation process and how citizens can get involved.

Fire Prevention Grant Awarded

The Santa Clara County Fire Safe Council will receive an $87,5000 federal grant for education programs to cut down on wild fires.

The purpose of federal Fire Prevention and Safety Grants is to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards. The primary goal of the grants is to reach high-risk target groups in order to mitigate the high incidences of death and injuries.

“Educating our citizens on fire prevention is a key component in the overall mission of preventing wild fires,” Pombo said. “I’m encouraged to see the Santa Clara County Fire Safe Council working with other area organizations to keep our communities and citizens safe.”
