Newly elected trustees Gino Borgioli, David Gerard and Donna Foster-Ruebusch, along with incumbent re-elect Ron Woolf, will be sworn in at the Morgan Hill Unified School District’s Dec. 9 Board of Education meeting prior to the caucus adjourning to closed session.

The freshly sworn-in trustees will join current board members Bob Benevento, Rick Badillo and Amy Porter-Jensen inside the district office located at 17600 Concord Circle, with closed session at 5 p.m. and public session at about 6 p.m.

One of the first orders of business will be to appoint a new board president to replace longtime Trustee Don Moody, who did not seek re-election in the November general election. The board will also select a new vice president to replace Trustee Shelle Thomas, who also declined to seek re-election for the Nov. 4 race.

Under general business, the district is seeking board approval on several items, including:

—Hiring of Alejandra Gomez, in the amount not to exceed $3,500, for introductory level Spanish classes for MHUSD employees;

<

—$3,657,500 contract (from Measure G funds) with DPR Builders, Inc. for the Charter School of Morgan Hill’s new multi-use building; and

<

—2014-15 First Interim budget for the general fund.
Under consent items (which the board considers routine and approves in one vote), the district is seeking approval of a $172,199 contract (funded via Mello Roos bond) with Dryco, Inc for asphalt replacement at Los Paseos Elementary School.
