It’s called Viale and is located on the corner of Watsonville Road and Calle Sueno, west of Monterey Road.

State, county, and city officials,and a representative of U.S. Congressman Richard Pombo, R-Stockton, will join South County Housing Corp. for groundbreaking festivities from 9-10am at the 10-home Viale development site at the corner of Watsonville Road and Calle Sueno, just west of Monterey Road. South County Housing Corporation and the City of Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency have teamed up to develop the project, with financial help from Santa Claa County HOME funds.

The $4.5 million project includes 10, detached, single-family homes ranging in size from 1,483 square-feet in the eight three-bedroom models, to 1,542 square-feet in the two four-bedroom models.

Depending on down payment amounts and special financing options, first mortgages are expected to range from $135,000 to $420,000.

Preferences are for, in order, Morgan Hill School District teachers, charter school teachers, or Santa Clara County Department of Education teachers; teachers in Morgan Hill private schools; Morgan Hill police officers; other Morgan Hill city employees; other Morgan Hill School District employees; and other teachers who live in Morgan Hill.

Applications are available at South County Housing, 9015 Murray Ave., Ste. 100, Gilroy. Although targeted at teachers and city employees, all interested individuals are invited to apply.
