Family and friends are invited to view Sandlot outdoors
The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual “Movie Night Under the Stars” on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center.
Last year’s event was planned as a class project by the 2002 Leadership Morgan Hill Class. Because the event was so successful, the Chamber has put together a committee of Leadership Morgan Hill alumni to plan and expand the event to include a family funfest.
Admission is free so bring your family, friends and neighbors to enjoy the many activities and outdoor movie, featuring the 20th Century Fox film “The Sandlot.”
The evening will begin at 4 p.m. with local demonstrations of dance, martial arts, gymnastics and entertainment; hot dogs, snow cones, candy and drinks with free popcorn served during the movie; local wines and microbrews; kids activities including a three-story slide, jump house and activity center; and vendor booths with children’s activities and crafts.
The movie, “The Sandlot”, is rated PG and will be projected on an outdoor screen at dusk. It’s a great story that takes place during the summer of 1962, when a new boy in town joins a youth sandlot baseball team and tries desperately to fit in with the others.
The Community and Cultural Center is at Monterey and Dunne Avenue at 17000 Monterey Road in the downtown Morgan Hill.
To assist with the cost of this free, fun-filled event, sponsorship opportunities, donations, screen ads, and booth space are still available.
