On Sept. 11 at its regular school board meeting, the Morgan Hill Unified School District welcomed Denis Guerrero as its latest hire in the district office.
Guerrero is the Director of Technology for the entire school district and replaces Arlene Machado, who will continue to serve as a Director in the Educational Services Department. Machado will coordinate student assessment, and support curriculum, instruction, and leadership development.
Before applying for this position, Guerrero was working with Visions in Education based in Sacramento, an independent study charter school serving 4,300 students across nine counties. He began with that company in 2008, where the executive director there credits him with building the infrastructure from the ground up.
The director of technology will work directly under the superintendent and assistant superintendent to spearhead all the district’s facets of technology.
Before Visions, Guerrero was a software engineer consultant, web developer and programmer. He has bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, with a minor in communications from University of California in Davis.
Guerrero starts with MHUSD Oct. 1.
