School district staff will host a town hall-style meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. May 1 to provide information to the public and receive input on the development of Morgan Hill Unified’s long-range Facilities Master Plan.
The meeting will be held in the Morgan Hill City Council Chambers located at 17575 Peak Ave.
MHUSD staff initiated the FMP process to identify long-term demographic trends, assess current facilities conditions, and envision educational program opportunities in order to develop strategies that address these needs and their impact to the school site facilities, according to the district’s April 24 press release.
A primary goal of this plan is to develop high-quality learning environments for students throughout the district, according to district staff.
As part of the process, in March, principals met with the architects regarding their school facility needs and conducted a comprehensive walk-through of each site. The FMP Steering Committee members were briefed by the architects regarding the current facilities assets and the needs of each school. Then in April, a brainstormed list of potential projects was developed.
