For the second time this season, the Pride of Morgan Hill 14U
girls have captured a prestigious tournament title. This time, the
local softball squad won the ASA Invitational Tournament at Twin
Creeks in Santa Clara over the weekend of July 9-10. The team went
undefeated, winning all six games to claim the tourney
championship.

This time, the local softball squad won the ASA Invitational Tournament at Twin Creeks in Santa Clara over the weekend of July 9-10. The team went undefeated, winning all six games to claim the tourney championship.
The Pride outscored its opponents 61-17 in tourney play. It was the Pride’s second tourney victory of the season, following its Memorial Day weekend tourney victory in Salinas.
The Pride team is currently playing in its final tournament of the season, the NSA Western World Series in St. George, Utah July 16-23.
Following are the ASA tourney results:
Pride 10, Stockton Diamond Girls 3.
Pride pitcher Sarah Cornaggia held the Diamond Girls to only six hits. MH had a big third inning, scoring seven runs, triggered by a Dehajaira Lopez hit. Kristi Admundson had two triples and scored two runs.
Pride 5, Twisters 4.
Offensively, the Pride had 11 hits with Tanya Ferry and Hollie Turay each going 3-for-3, as the local team Pride tallied three runs in the final inning for the win.
Pride 12, Albany Berkeley Sting 0.
The Pride had 12 hits, including three hits each from Danielle Clampett and Kelly Hillman.
Pride 9, Monterey Firefighters 2.
On offense, the Pride had 16 hits and seven stolen bases.
Playoffs: Pride 9, Diamond Girls 3.
Ferry was exceptional with a big catch in the outfield, a homerun, a triple and a single, scoring three runs.
Championship: Pride 16, Twisters 5.
Great pitching by Ferry and Hillman held the Twisters to seven hits, while the local duo amassed seven strikeouts. On offense, the Pride had an impressive 19 hits. Down by two runs going to the fourth inning, MH tied the game, then blew the game open with six runs in the fifth.
