The Morgan Hill Swim Club sent five swimmers to the Pacific Swimming Age Group Championship swim meet held in Pacifica Dec. 5-7.
Out of 63 teams competing, the Makos finished in 28th place.
In the 13-14 division, Laura Shope placed 16th in the 50 free with a time of 26.03 seconds. Mike Wu placed 7th in the 500 free (5:15.57) and 11th in the 200 free (1:57.13). Alisa Pinarbasi rounded out the 13-14 age group contingent.
In the 11-12 division, Allie Finley qualified in the 50 back. Steven Rick also competed in the 11-12 division, registering a 2nd place finish in the 50 breaststroke (33.06), a 4th place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.76), and a 5th place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:25.74).
The Makos, the second oldest swim team in Santa Clara County, are in their 40th straight year of representing Morgan Hill in USA Swimming. Swimming programs are offered for individuals of all abilities aged 5 to 80.
