The county expects to raise XX to fund basic services now that the results are in for Measure A which imposes a one-eighth-cent sales tax on residents.

OR

The county’s services will fall even farther into the realm of ineptitude since voters didn’t accept the offer to pay a one-eighth-cent on stuff they buy in Santa Clara County.
