Mayoral Candidate Agrees With Columnist’s Views on RDA

Dear Editor,

I agree with Lisa Pampuch’s Aug. 22 and Sept. 5 Morgan Hill Times articles on eminent domain and Proposition 90. 

If I’m elected mayor of Morgan Hill I hope to renovate the shopping center and protect personal property rights by giving incentives to the property owners to upgrade their properties. This is a good use of the RDA money and accomplishes what the RDA was intended for. Look at the new Tennant Station. It wasn’t long ago that the center was run down and had lots of vacancies. Today it is remodeled, new buildings have been added and it’s a vibrant Center. 

We all have to ask ourselves, would I want someone taking my property? It doesn’t matter if it’s a home or your business, would you want someone else authorized to take it?
