was 76.
Margaret “Peggy” B. O’Connor died Wednesday, Jan. 1, in Morgan Hill. She was 76.

A native of New York, Peggy, moved to San Jose in 1972. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus in Uniondale, N.Y. During her time in California she worked as an executive secretary at Fairchild Semiconductor and Weitek Semiconductor. In her retirement she was a docent at the San Jose Historical Museum and at the Ainsley House in Campbell. She was also a member of the St. Basil’s Couples Club and the Hospitality Club at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Campbell.

She was the beloved wife of John “Jack” J. O’Connor Sr. for 55 years; loving mother of Susan Vashon, John “Jay” J. O’Connor and James “Jim” J. O’Connor; and cherished grandmother of Shannon Duggan, Heather and Forrest O’Connor.

Friends are invited to attend a vigil service at 7 tonight, Jan. 7, at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be held Jan. 8 at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd., at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos.
