The Machado School Heritage Society and Intero Realty are the first winners of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce’s annual Golden Apple Awards.

The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce presented the awards during a reception 5:30-7pm, Nov. 2, at BookSmart, 80 East Second St., in Morgan Hill.

The Golden Apple Award is given to organizations and businesses that have gone above and beyond the call to support and contribute to the city’s education programs.

In addition to the Golden Apple Awards, there will four Golden Apple Award Honorable Mention Awards given to organizations and businesses for their support and contributions to the community’s education programs.

This year the Bernal Bible Church, Paramit Corporation, Graebel Relocation Services and Sycamore Concrete will receive the Golden Apple Award Honorable Mention Awards.

The Chamber’s Education Council requested nominations from the Morgan Hill Unified School District and other Morgan Hill schools and businesses in education. The nominations were reviewed by members of the Education Council’s Golden Apple Award Committee, recommendations were made and, then, approved by the Education Council.

Chamber members and the public are invited to attend the reception.
