After splitting a pair of games last week, the Live Oak High boys soccer team kept its non-league record at .500 with a win and a loss this week.
The Acorns rebounded from a shutout loss to Alisal on Monday with a shutout victory of their own, 2-0 over visiting Yerba Buena, on Wednesday. In the victory, Live Oak (2-2) got goals from juniors Michael Place and Anthony Razouk. Acorn coach Tony Goble said the win represented a good effort following a disappointing 4-0 home loss to former league rival Alisal earlier in the week.
Last week, Live Oak opened its season with a 3-2 loss at Santa Clara, then beat a tough Pioneer team 1-0 on a goal by Razouk on Saturday.
Live Oak is missing key striker AJ Battel due to a foot injury that may keep him out until January.
