honors at the South Bay Football League’s NFL FLAG Tournament.
Kids braved the 100-degree heat July 23rd to compete for top honors at the South Bay Football League’s NFL FLAG Tournament.
Teams from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Campbell and San Jose played in three age brackets: 6-8-year-olds, 9-11-year0olds and 12-14-year-olds for flag football bragging rights.
Morgan Hill All-Stars took top honors for the 6-8 Bracket while the Campbell Cowboys won the 9-11 Bracket and the San Jose Packers won the 12-14 Bracket.
The best game of the day was the 12-14 Championship Game between the San Jose Packers and Morgan Hill Chargers. Led by Coach Lydia Gamino, the Chargers had the lead for most of the game against perennial powerhouse
Packers, but saw their win slip away when the Packers scored on a last second play to tie the game and then converted their PAT to win the game.
