Approximately 800,000 gallons of water, over 600 swimmers and hundreds of officials, parents, spectators and volunteers combined to make the Halloween Cauldron Swim Meet last weekend.

But the strange brew wasn’t scary for the 47 members of the Morgan Hill Makos Swim Club that hosted the event at the Morgan Hill Swim Center on Saturday and Sunday. With over 25 teams competing, there was plenty of competition.

The results for the Makos were excellent for an early season meet with almost 50 percent of all swims resulting in personal records.

New Head Coach Mark Scott, joined by the new Head Age Group Coach Mark Dopler enjoyed their first meet experience at home with the Makos at a very smoothly run meet.

Scott joins the team with over 20 years of successful experience at USA Swimming Senior, Age Group, High School, and Collegiate Coaching, including two-time NAIA National Championships while at the University of Puget Sound, and a State High School Championship while in Washington State.
