Live Oak won its second match of the season, beating Piedmont
11-7 on Friday night. In a fast and physical game, Live Oak
’s improving teamwork proved successful. Coming back from
injury, sophomore Brian Costello started off the scoring with an
assist from junior Robert Kotval. Costello added two more goals and
three assists, and Kotval also added three goals.

Sophomore Kyle Dutra scored four goals and had two assists, and sophomore Conner Williamson, who is still recovering from a broken arm, added a goal. Solid on defense was sophomore Scott Alexander. Playing strong in the net was senior goalie Michael Anvari, who made critical saves against a determined team.
In a tough season for Live Oak, which moved up to Division I this year, the Acorns improved to 2-3 overall. Live Oak plays Santa Teresa, who the Acorns have already beaten this season, on Friday.
