After struggling earlier in the season, the Live Oak High hockey team has won its last two matches.
On Friday night against Westmont, Live Oak pulled out a 7-3 win as sophomore forward Brian Costello scored three goals and added two assists.
Also scoring for LO were junior Chase Norman with two goals, sophomore Scott Alexander with a goal and an assist, junior Ricky Lasher with a goal, and sophomore Conner Williamson with two assists.
The Acorns were also led by senior Matt Edgar and a strong performance from senior goalie Michael Anvari.
In its previous match, LO used an intact lineup to post an 11-3 victory over Monta Vista. Sophomore forwards Kyle Dutra and Costello both had three goals and two assists in the victory. Williamson added three goals of his own, and senior Sean Gullery and Norman both had a goal and an assist, while Alexander provided two assists.
LO is set to play Pioneer Friday at 7pm at Rollin Ice in San Jose.
In the middle of their second season, the Acorns struggled a little after moving up to a tougher division and playing short-handed in its first few matches.
Despite pulling off on-ice victories in its first two matches, LO was forced to forfeit due to playing with just half its team.
