Each year, Live Oak High School’s softball program does something very special and deserves recognition in the community and my appreciation and sincere gratitude.
In 1995, my wife, Annie Lynch, passed away after battling breast cancer. The following spring, Live Oak’s softball program organizers asked me if they could dedicate the season to the memory of my wife. Of course, I was honored. They went on to re-name the “Circle of Champions” softball tournament held each March in her memory.
As a result, Live Oak Softball presents me with a check each year for $500 to be given to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research in Annie’s name.
I want to thank Live Oak High School, the girls softball program, and most especially, coach Barry McDonnell, who has been so kind and gracious for the last eight years.
The Morgan Hill community needs to know how their high school contributes to the community, and this is one very special example.
Rick Lynch,
Morgan Hill
