Two Live Oak High School graduates, who became fast friends while working at a local hair salon, have decided to move forward and open their own business. Tiffany Salon, located at 17500 Monterey Road, held its grand opening Sept. 23, during the Taste of Morgan Hill.

Since Tiffany Goller and Roz Sanchez opened the doors of their new business they said, “the response has been great, just through word of mouth.”

Goller, a 1988 graduate of Live Oak, has been engaged in hair styling for the past 16 years, and really more, if she counts her days as a child, when she fixed the hair of her Barbie dolls. In high school, Goller said she served as hairstylist for her many girl friends before they went to parties and proms.

After graduation, Goller attended the Monterey Academy of Hair Design and then worked at Diana’s Hair Crafters, another hair salon in Morgan Hill.

“Diana (Gomez) is my mentor. She used to cut my hair when I was young,” said Goller.

It was at Diana’s Hair Crafters that Goller met Sanchez, a 1997 Live Oak graduate, who had also attended Monterey Academy of Hair Design. They became good friends and encouraged by Diana Gomez, the pair decided to put up their own business.

“A spot became available here on Monterey Road, we applied, we got it and everything just snowballed,” said Sanchez.

Goller and Sanchez work well together since Sanchez is single and mans the business while Goller is still able to attend to her children at different times in the day. Goller and her husband Chris, have three boys – Zachary, 8; Jake, 6; and Max, 4.

The biggest challenge for Goller is “balancing home and kids with the business.”

She remarked, “It has been great with Roz because we’ve developed such a close friendship and balance each other well.”

Sanchez also has always liked hairstyling.

“I always spent my money getting my hair done all the time, I decided I better learn how to do it and save,” said Sanchez.

The salon also has three stylists who rent stations. Haircuts and style, hair extensions, manicures, pedicures, body waxing, are just some of the services the salon offers.

“We’re a full-service hair salon, though we specialize in hair extensions of all colors,” said Sanchez.

Both Goller and Sanchez are very happy and excited about their new business venture.

“We grew up in this town and love the people. It’s always nice when we see someone come in that we know. The business allows us both to be with people,” said Goller.

“We love what we do and like our clients a lot. It really is about our clients,” said Sanchez.

Tiffany Salon is open 8am – 7pm Mondays through Saturdays. For more information, or to make an appointment, call 782-8411.
