Mr. Dimas moved to Gilroy 35 years ago following the crop harvest. He worked for the Gilroy Parks and Recreation for 30 years. He also worked for the Gilroy School Unified School District. He was a native of Chihuahua, Mexico.
He was the husband of the late Dolores Dimas.
He is survived by Jesse J. Dimas Jr. of Hollister, Maria Dimas-Gonzalez and her husband Efreen of Hollister and Joey Dimas of Gilroy; grandchildren Darren, Christian, Miguel and Chabela; siblings Santiago Dimas of Gilroy, Juanita Garcia-Dimas of Gilroy, Coy Dimas of Georgia and Mickey Speers of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Mass takes place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
