Athletes from Morgan Hill and San Martin combined for five
top-three finishes in Event 2 of the Jenny’s Light Kids Triathlon
Series, held Sunday at San Jose State University
SAN JOSE — Athletes from Morgan Hill and San Martin combined for five top-three finishes in Event 2 of the Jenny’s Light Kids Triathlon Series, held Sunday at San Jose State University.
Fifty-four youths competed in eight divisions based on age, gender and skill level.
San Martin’s Nate Schilling, 13, covered the swim, bike and run in 45 minutes, four seconds to take second in the 12-14 Senior Division. Wyatt Gold, 11, of Morgan Hill placed the same in 9-11 Intermediates, clocking 30:16, as did Morgan Hill 6-year-old Miles McGarvey (16:30) in 5-6 Super Juniors.
A pair of Morgan Hill girls posted bronze finishes. Trinity Richards, 10, finished the 9-11 Intermediate course in 30:04, and 6-year-old Katelynn Lieberenz crossed in 15:55 to tie Gianna Bozzo of Gilroy for third in 5-6 Super Juniors.
The Jenny’s Light Series is presented by South Valley Endurance and will pick up with Event 3 on May 16 at SJSU.
