FFA Crab Feed fundraiser March 2

The Sobrato Ag Boosters’ annual Crab Feed fundraiser will take place Saturday, March 2, at the Morgan Hill Grange. 

The cost of $45 person includes a hearty meal of crab cioppino, cold cracked crab, green salad, pasta salad, French bread and soda, plus wine for the adult crowd. A raffle and door prizes will also be featured at the fundraiser. 

Funds raised will support the Sobrato High School FFA.

Early seating is from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and late seating is from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at Hale Lumber, 17020 Depot St., and BookSmart, 80 E. Second St.

Parent University set for March 9

Parents can learn more about how to help their children succeed in school at the March 9 Parent University at Live Oak High School. 

Organized by the P.A. Walsh Home and School Club, Parent University will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with registration and coffee starting at 8:30 a.m.

Parent University is a parent-educator partnership designed for parents of Morgan Hill students, according to a press release from the P.A. Walsh Home and School Club. The theme of the event is “Parent learning for student success.” 

Booths and seminars scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon will offer parents a variety of information they can use to help their children. Seminar topics include Transitioning from Elementary to Middle School; Gang Prevention: A community approach; Anger Management and Brain Development; Test Preparation and the Path to College; and Art in Curriculum. 

Morgan Hill Unified School District Superintendent Wes Smith will start off the Parent University with welcoming remarks at 9 a.m. Live Oak Boosters will sell lunch, MHUSD students will provide entertainment, and child care is available, according to the press release.

Parents can also get their child’s fingerprints and check their blood pressure at the event. 

Live Oak High School is located at 1505 E. Main Ave., in Morgan Hill.
