‘American Idiot’

<

The punk-rock musical, Green Day’s American Idiot, which is based on the hit album, tells the story of three lifelong friends trapped in suburbia. When they’re forced to choose between their unbridled dreams and the safety of suburbia, each embarks on his own quest for true meaning in post-9/11 America. This high-energized musical features little dialogue, telling the story with lyrics from the album backed by a live band where even some of the actors are on guitar. Songs include ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams,’ ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ and more. Catch this two-time Tony-award winning hit Thursday, July 14 through Sunday, August 21 at City Lights’ intimate theater located at 529 South Second St., in San Jose. Tickets range from $19 to $39 and can be purchased online at cltc.org.
