The San Martin Neighborhood Alliance (SMNA) will host its first Annual Classic Car Show and Family Fun Day from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the San Martin Pumpkin Patch Park, 13865 Monterey Road at California Avenue, just north of San Martin Avenue.

SMNA is pleased that Renée Roberts of “Design Factory Graphics” and Steve Bisordi of “Steve’s Silkscreening” combined efforts to design and print official T-shirts that each car owner enrolled in the show will receive; shirts will also be on sale for $15 each.

The Ludewig Family has donated the use of its family park, often rented for birthday parties and weddings, for this fundraiser. Antiques give the barn a country appeal and two lawn areas work for picnics. There is also a train and ample parking.

San Martin Meats has offered to donate a portion of their proceeds and will provide the hot meals including Tri-tip sandwiches, chicken and hotdogs for the kids.

A DJ will play Oldies and Country Music (and even karaoke) and there will be activities for children and local vendors as well. Some sponsors of SMNA’s “Hot August 9th!” include: Design Factory Graphics, San Martin Tires, Power Equipment Company, South County Chevrolet, and Bob Woods and George Hicks.

The event is designed as a fundraiser and a way to spread information to residents about some recently approved land use applications and about incorporating into the City of San Martin. Incorporation would cost between $150,000-$250,000 – hence the fundraiser.

Tickets for “Hot August 9th!” are $4 in advance, $5 at the gate. Several members of SMNA have volunteered their time to plan and coordinate this event; however, volunteers are still welcome to help make this fundraiser a success. For information or tickets call Connie Ludewig 683-2055 or Ann Cerniglia at 683-2904. “Together We Make A Difference”.
