It’s that time of year again with royalty courts, floats, and the big game – homecoming! This week around Live Oak is full of activities.

Each day is a spirit day and Monday starts it off with pajama day. We then have sports day, twin day, decades day, and class spirit day on Friday. Along with each spirit day, we have a lunchtime activity planned.

During pajama day, there is a pillow fight; during sports day, we have a football and basketball toss; during twin day we have a who-knows-who-best contest; during decades day, there is a dance contest; and Friday is the day of our big homecoming rally. During the past week, the homecoming princesses of the freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes have been elected. The senior class has also nominated five princesses from their class and will be electing a queen this week to be announced during half- time at the football game this Friday. Each of the classes are still in progress of building their float for the parade and competition. The parade begins at approximately 3pm on Friday at Live Oak and makes its way around the library on Peak Avenue and back to the football field at the school to be on display for the night.

This past Saturday kicked off our homecoming spirit with our homecoming bay cruise. All of the guys and gals looked perfect and ready to board the busses at Live Oak at 5pm. After check-in, the seven charter buses headed up to San Francisco full of Nuts. We arrived at about 8pm and cruised the bay for about three hours. The skies were clear and it was a perfect night to dance away, or just sit out and enjoy the bridge and city lights.

It will be a nutty week full of activities at Live Oak. Come support our football boys this Friday night at 7:30pm as they take on the Salinas Cowboys. And again this year, there will be a spectacular half-time fireworks show to pump us up. See you there! Go Nuts!
