country-style living that this area affords.

With the recent drug bust uncovering a pot farm and fighting cock exploit, residents of the quiet Armsby Lane community are both horrified and hopeful. Situated near Uvas Reservoir and only 10 minutes drive from downtown Morgan Hill, Armsby Lane is home to a few dozen property owners who love the peace and country-style living that this area affords. These folk, in true country fashion, work together to maintain their mutual well, keep their private roadways in good condition, and even run a community website (www.armsbylane.com, http://www.armsbylane.com).
Before getting to this beautiful rural area, however, visitors and residents alike are compelled to travel the gauntlet of a short segment of Armsby Lane that their road association has little control over. This entryway is a long-recognized eyesore and was the scene of the raid by Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputies. The raid yielded seven arrests, revealed a pot farm unsuspected by local residents, and saddened the community on learning of the extent of the abused roosters.
These residents are hopeful, however, that this marks the beginning of the cleanup of the portal to the Armsby Lane community and that the absentee landlord will remove the 8-foot wooden walls that have made it possible for this operation to go on unobserved. As with all Morgan Hill dwellers, these residents are proud of their neighborhood and are committed to making it a great place to live.
