Dear Editor,
If Ms. Bailey’s letter inspires people to donate time and or money to Grad Night then I am very happy. Grad Night is an exciting event and it deserves a great deal more help then it has received in the past.
I was one of the chairs in 1998 and the Treasurer in 2005. What I question from her letter is the negative comments.
As a group, the 2005 volunteers were very dedicated to making this a successful event. We worked countless hours and in most cases donated our own money to cover costs.
We did not overspend; we followed the budget set from 2004. If you are interested in the facts, the figures in the previous letter were incorrect.
What we did succeed at was receiving enough participation from students and parents. Parents, if you want to help Grad Night, have your child buy their ticket early.
Again, if you read Ms. Bailey’s letter and are inspired I say yes, go out there and donate time and money. Senior and junior parents’ Grad Night needs you!
This program keeps your precious children off the streets and out of harms way on graduation night.
