Not all is gloom and doom at the Morgan Hill School District.

Budget cutting is a painful experience, and that is primarily on the Board’s mind at the April 7 meeting. But they were pleasantly surprised by a most generous donation from Tom and Augie Guardino of Guardino Well Drilling.

The donation included a new pump system, storage tank and all the labor for the Machado School site. And that’s not all. Augie called in the help of Anthony Goularte of Associated Concrete, Jim Tarp of Jet Electric and Jim Pacheco for his back hoe services. All three gentlemen put in their time, material and experience to help Guardino finish the job.

It totaled more than $13,000 worth of labor and material. That’s what volunteering and community involvement is all about. Their only payback is a hope to see children come back to Machado in the fall of 2003.

Our hats off for a job well done. Give these fellows a pat on the back when you run into them.

President Machado School Heritage Society, Morgan Hill
