Dear Editor,
We know now that the war in Iraq was not about weapons of mass destruction. We know now that the war in Iraq was not about Al Qaeda. We know that both of these connections were only excuses for war coming from whatever demons are raging in George W Bush’s psyche.
Bush and the neo-cons fail to understand you don’t change a person’s heart and soul with a gun. They also fail to understand that, in their zeal to win this so-called “war on terrorism,” they themselves have become tyrants. They are subversively replacing our freedoms with fear.
It’s time the American people fight back against the tyranny in their own government. It’s time for the U.S. to return to its position of holding the moral high ground in world opinion. It’s time to elect congressional representatives – ethical people like Jerry McNerney – who realize we can no longer “stay the course” toward the destruction of American democracy.
