Morgan Hill’s Amay Poria took home the Junior Tour of Northern California Spring Series V championship Sunday at Coyote Creek Golf Course in San Jose.
Poria controlled the tournament thanks to an opening round of three-under 69. In round two, Poria continued to play well, firing a one-over 73. He took the championship by three strokes over Nick Rogers, who finished at 145.
Hollister’s Ryan Han finished tied for third place, carding a 147 over the two-day tournament. Han received the third place medal thanks to a back-nine 35.
Gilroy’s Ryan Slater finished with a 77 on the second day. His first round results were not made available. Morgan Hill’s Michael Valentine shot an 87 on Sunday.
The Junior Tour of Northern California is part of the CIG Golf Program. The tour continues its 2013 season at Diablo Grand Golf Course in Patterson on April 27-28.
