Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all the marvelous,
glorious and magical things that we are granted every day. But we
shouldn
’t think of Thanksgiving as the only day to give our gratitude.
I believe we should be grateful everyday for every little thing we
are granted.
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all the marvelous, glorious and magical things that we are granted every day. But we shouldn’t think of Thanksgiving as the only day to give our gratitude. I believe we should be grateful everyday for every little thing we are granted.
There are so many things that we as people don’t take for granted what we have, but always desire more and more rather than being thankful for all of the wonderful things we are provided. For instance, what about our health? We really don’t care much about it until we really get sick and start whining about it. And how about our car? We always hope for a newer model rather than being content with the current one. Or how about those few extra pounds? We always want to become thinner and thinner until we look like the models from sports or teenage magazines. As human beings, we are never satisfied with what we have until we actually experience life without it.
You are given rights, help, and equal opportunities to reach your own personal goals. You have the right to express yourself and fight for your rights, while in many other countries such as Cuba, you are ruled by communism and injustice.
Thousands of people die trying to cross the borders in search of a better life for themselves and their children. Many sacrifice their lives by walking through deserts without water or food, traveling in trucks filled with dozens of people while suffocating through the immense heat, sailing through the ocean in dangerous waters in small boats filled with people, and all of this just to come and migrate to the United States in search of “hope.”
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all of the wonderful things life has given us, which makes us who we are today.
How about the moments you share with your family while you yell at each other from the top of your lungs and apologize when you figure it’s better to just get along and value the good time you have with one another? How about the time when you go to your grandparents’ and welcome you with such care and love while trying to please you in every way possible and giving nonstop advice on what you should never do, but have already done? How about those special moments you share with your loved ones while watching a movie and snuggle in a blanket, the time your father sits down with you and explains to you the morals of life, the time mother makes all of your pains and troubles go away with a simple kiss or a hug?
As for myself, I am highly grateful for all of the marvelous things this country has to offer. By having the chance to live in this country, you are given the opportunity to better your personal life and those of the generations to come. Not many people realize what a glorious country this is until they actually visit or live in another country. Here, you are given the keys to all doors through an education, ambition, and hard work.
I am so thankful to live in a country full of life, happiness and contentment that I feel like a bird deciding where to fly next, what to experience next, what to sing next. What I most value from this country is its education because it’s what opens the doors to all successes and dreams. With the value of education, you come to value not only your achievement but also your humanity. I am thankful for the human mind that takes me places that I never knew existed; through imagination, and dreams. But most importantly, I believe everyone should be gratefully thankful for having been given the chance to live and experience the great roller coasters with such magical power that life has to offer.
