SAN JOSE — Sobrato’s bid for a return trip to the CIF-Central Coast Section playoffs ended with a 75-45 loss to Evergreen Valley on Wednesday in San Jose.

The Lady Bulldogs have three games remaining and will not be able to finish in the top four of the Blossom Valley Athletic League-Mount Hamilton Division standings or make the .500 cutoff for the Division II tournament. They fell to 11-11 overall and 3-8 in league.

Katelyn Kunze scored a team-high 15 points for Sobrato, and Courtney Sedlak finished with eight.

The first-place Cougars (18-5 overall, 10-1 BVAL) poured in 24 points during the first quarter on the way to leading 41-21 at halftime.

Evergreen Valley received 16 points from Samantha Grant and 14 from Lanyssa Fiaui.

The Bulldogs will wrap up a three-game road stretch Friday at Silver Creek before hosting their final two games against Piedmont Hills and Leigh next week.

First-place Pioneer downs LO

On its way to a BVAL-West Valley Division championship, Pioneer grabbed another win over Live Oak.

Mercedes Pardo scored 23 points as the first-place Mustangs (16-4 overall, 11-0 BVAL) won 72-32 Tuesday in Live Oak Gym.

The Acorns’ scoring was not available.

Live Oak (1-19, 1-10) hosts James Lick at 7 p.m. tonight .
