A Gilroy resident, who was attempting to cut down a branch from
a city-owned tree, died Wednesday after being knocked off a ladder
from the falling branch.
A Gilroy resident, who was attempting to cut down a branch from a city-owned tree, died Wednesday after being knocked off a ladder from the falling branch.
Neighbors on the 7200 block of Carr Pl. called 911 after the victim’s son yelled for help. The accident occurred at approximately 5:57 p.m.
The Gilroy Fire Department responded and began administering first aid and CPR to the victim, who fell head first and landed on a cement sidewalk.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
