Dear Editor,
I would like to correct inaccuracies in Matt King’s article “Rising From Its Ashes” which was published in the Morgan Hill Times on February 28th.
I resent Matt King’s personal comments, which impugns the Quail Canyon Inn as “a bar full of biker and other rowdies, drinkin, cussin, and fightin” and was not a quote by anyone other than Mr. King’s own invective.
Although fabrications like this may provide more interesting reading, it is not only false, but an unfair attack on the Quail, it’s patrons and owners.Â
The truth is, that over the past 60 years, the Quail Canyon Inn has attracted a very diverse spectrum from the community. Ranchers, contractors, locals, motorcyclists, and outdoor lovers have enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of this pastoral setting.
Those who drive by the Quail on weekends will sometimes see many motorcycles in the parking lot, but the riders are not “rowdies” as Mr. King labels us, but many Professionals, high tech executives and business owners who enjoy having a conversation with a pint, while discussing politics, current events and sports.
If you can see through the leather, you would find good-hearted souls who share a passion for their interests.Â
I will credit Mr. King with one accurate comment, we are indeed optimistic and excited about the new building, and look forward to our continuing effort to provide fundraising which benefits our community. The new structure will contain enhanced viewpoints of the lake, an expanded kitchen, and an emphasis on a more family oriented environment.
